Someone recently took 14 feet of copper bus bars from an AT&T cell tower substation in Lower Macungie Township, according to state police at Fogelsville.

The theft, which police say happened between Aug. 18 and Sept. 18, occurred at 7450 Hamilton Blvd. The bus bars were removed from inside the fence of the substation, police say.

A bus bar is an electrical conductor that can typically carry a high current and is used to connect several circuits in a system. Bus bars can be made of a variety of metals, including copper.

This incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Justin Summa of the PSP at 610-395-1438.
