Six Displaced After Lower Macungie House Fire

A Lower Macungie home is uninhabitable after a Saturday night house fire.

A house fire in a Lower Macungie Township home has left six residents displaced, authorities said.

A fire broke out in a home at 7308 Green Hill Road on Saturday night. Lower Macungie Township Fire Chief David Nosal said the fire started in the chimney or fireplace of the home, according to The Express-Times.

The residents were not home at the time of the fire, authorities said. Firefighters reported to the blaze at 8:20 p.m. and discovered heavy fire at the rear of the house, The Express-Times reported.

Neighbors reported the fire and saved the residents dogs, The Express-Times said. Nosal said firefighters saved a cat from the blaze, as well, the newspaper said.

The Express-Times said no injuries were reported. The home, however, is uninhabitable, as the attic and rear of the home sustained heavy damage during the blaze.
