Bucks Nonprofits Raise More Than $100K During Giving Tuesday
Giving Tuesday, which follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday, encourages people to give to the causes they care about.

Giving Tuesday, which was held Dec. 2, raised more than $110,000 for Bucks County nonprofits.
The day, which follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday, encourages people to give to the causes they care about. More than 130 Bucks County nonprofits participated in Giving Tuesday Bucks, a local effort to accept donations throughout the day.
Organizers said $111,771 was raised for Bucks County’s nonprofits through online and in-person donations.

“Reports of gifts to participating nonprofits are still coming in and the total for the event is expected to continue to grow over the next several days,” Giving Tuesday Bucks organizers said in an announcement.
Local organizations that participated included A Woman’s Place, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County, Bucks County Housing Group, Bucks County Playhouse, Central Bucks Family YMCA, Council Rock Education Foundation, Easter Seals of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County, Heritage Conservancy, Penn Foundation, the United Way of Bucks County and more.

“This is about giving money back to our communities, which is what makes Bucks County such a great place to live,” said state Senator Chuck McIlhinney.
