Local Libraries to Launch Teen Reading Program
Teen Reading Lounge, for grades 7 to 12, will run for eight sessions starting March 11 at libraries in Warminster and Southampton.

Do you have a teen that loves to read?
Good news: two libraries in the Bucks County Free Library system are launching an interactive book club just for teens.
Teen Reading Lounge will run for eight sessions on Wednesday evenings starting March 11. The program is open to teens in grades 7 to 12. Sessions are held at The Southampton Free Library and Warminster Township Free Library.

The sessions will include dynamic book discussions, hands-on activities and free books and food, according to information from the Bucks County Free Library.
The first featured book will be The Maze Runner. The remaining two books will be chosen by the group’s teen participants. The program will be facilitated by Cassandra Gunkel, a Pennsylvania Humanities Council Commonwealth Speaker.

Teen Reading Lounge will launch with kick-off party at the Warminster Library. Sessions will continue March 18 and 25, and April 1 at the Warminster Library.
The remaining four sessions on April 8, 15, 22, and 29 will take place at the Southampton Library. All sessions will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
“Teens who like reading will enjoy this action packed program,” said Lora Terifay, Youth Services Librarian at the Southampton Free Library.
Ann Ferro, Youth Services Librarian at the Warminster Township Free Library, added that participants “are going to enjoy how their favorite books are transformed through the fun activities and experiences this program has to offer.”

All participants will receive free copies of the books chosen for the sessions.
