Lower Southampton Cracks Down On Ex-Zoning Employee Visits
Two investigations currently are ongoing into past practices by the township's zoning department.

LOWER SOUTHAMPTON, PA — Lower Southampton officials are cracking down on township building visits from former zoning employees after the department's ex-director — whose work is under investigation — was spotted chatting with current employees.
The Intelligencer reports that Police Chief Ted Krimmel told the Board of Supervisors he'll be notify a former zoning department worker to restrict township building visits while a pair of investigations into the department are ongoing. Multiple sources told the paper that employee is former zoning Director Carol Drioli, who retired earlier this year.
Drioli has come under criticism after a consultant who reviewed two years of zoning records found a high number of irregularities, including missing development plans and multiple projects apparently granted approval without going through the township's typical process.

The Bucks County District Attorney's office and the state Department of Labor and Industry both are investigating the department's past practices.
At Wednesday's Board of Supervisors meeting, Krimmel said he planned to send the former employee a letter advising her to avoid the township building unless she was invited or attending a public meeting, according to The Intelligencer. The township this week also started new protocols for township building visitors and had locks changed on doors at the building, the paper reported.
