PA Coalition Against Rape celebrates 40th with nod to NOVA
Acknowledges Network of Victim Assistance on PCAR website
As Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape (PCAR) celebrates its 40th year of offering help, hope and healing to survivors of sexual assault, the organization is also honoring the rape crisis centers that, over the years, have supported and sometimes led PCAR’s efforts.
This week, it is recognizing Bucks County’s NOVA – Network of Victim Assistance – on its website. The page provides a brief history acknowledging NOVA’s efforts.
NOVA recently marked its own 40-year anniversary, having begun its work on behalf of rape victims in 1974 as WOAR – Women Organized Against Rape – before broadening its reach to help victims of all crimes through counseling, advocacy and prevention education.
