Trevose Man Charged In Crash That Killed Mummer
Philly Police said several charges have been filed against a Bucks County man in connection with a crash that killed a string band member.

PHILADELPHIA — The driver who police say struck and killed a member of a mummers group is facing homicide by vehicle and related charges.
Philadelphia Police said Michael Monacelli, 29, of Trevose, has been charged in connection with the crash that killed 57-year-old James Trinacria, of Philadelphia.
Monacelli has been charged with homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, recklessly endangering another person, and related crimes.

The charges stem from the crash that happened at about 8:22 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5 on the 11000 block of Knights Road.
Monacelli was speeding in 2019 Dodge Challenger going north on Knights Road, police said.

Trinacria, a member of the Woodland String Band, was crossing the road on the 1100 block when police allege Monacelli struck him.
Trinacria was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. According to police, Monacelli stopped after the crash.
The District Attorney's Office launched an investigation into the crash and then filed charges against Monacelli, who turned himself in to police at 10:30 a.m. Monday.
