United Way Director Takes on CEO Challenge for Giving Tuesday Donations

United Way of Buck County wants to hit $2,000 in donations for the Giving Tuesday Bucks fundraising drive, and CEO Jamie Haddon is prepared to do whatever it takes to make that happen.

Between noon and 4 p.m. Tuesday, Haddon will complete a series of extreme challenges that will be recorded and uploaded to a private YouTube account. With a $15 donation via the Giving Tuesday Bucks website, viewers can gain access to a video of their choosing. For $25, access will be granted to all nine videos. As a special treat, donations of $100 or more will receive a personalized message from Haddon, who will wear bunny ears and stuff his mouth with marshmallows.

The schedule of Tuesday's challenges is as follows:

12 p.m.: Cinnamon Challenge: Can Haddon swallow a full tablespoon of cinnamon in 60 seconds with no water?

12:30 pm: Fluffy Bunny: UW Bucks CEO Jamie Haddon dons his fanciest ears, shoves at least 10 marshmallows in his mouth and announces that he’s a fluffy bunny 3 times.

1 p.m.: Saltine Challenge: Six saltines. 60 seconds. No beverage.

1:30 p.m.: That’s Hot: United Way Bucks staff are each invited to bring in their favorite spicy ingredient. They all go on a sandwich, which Haddon enjoys for lunch. Free lunch? Hardly.

2 p.m.: Bobble Head: United Way Bucks team attaches a pedometer to Haddon’s head. He has just 60 seconds to record 125 steps.

2:30 p.m.: Wasabi Roulette: Four similar balls will be in front of Haddon and he must eat three. FYI: Three are chocolate-covered candy, one is chocolate-covered wasabi.

3 p.m.: Potato – Po-TA-to: Haddon chows down on a (semi-washed) potato like it’s an apple – and eats the whole darn thing in less than 1 minute!

3:30 p.m.: Elephant March: Haddon has 60 seconds to knock down 8 full water bottles, lined up on each side of him while he straddles a straight line that he can’t cross… using only a baseball in pantyhose worn on his head.

4 p.m.: The final challenge will be revealed later today.
