4 Delco Catholic Schools Earn National Blue Ribbon Distinction

The four Delaware County schools are five local schools in the Archdiocese to be named among 2019 Blue Ribbon Schools.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Four Delaware County Catholic elementary schools are being recognized by the United States Department of Education and was named a National Blue Ribbon School.

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia said Cardinal John Foley Regional Catholic School in Havertown, Saints Colman-John Neumann in Bryn Mawr, Saint Thomas the Apostle School in Glen Mills, and Saint Pius X Catholic School in Broomall are four of five local schools in the Archdiocese to be named among 2019 Blue Ribbon Schools.

Mary, Mother of the Redeemer in North Wales was also named a Blue Ribbon School.

Each school was chosen for this honor based on overall academic excellence.

These five were among only 50 private or religious schools in the country to receive this honor. Eighteen total Pennsylvania schools earned the honor.

The schools were selected as part of the 2019 cohort of National Blue Ribbon Schools in an announcement made by Education Secretary Betsy DeVos on Sept. 26.

Since that time the five schools have been honored and recognized for this elite achievement at various events locally, regionally, and nationally.

On Monday, Dec. 9 at an event in Hershey all 2019 Blue Ribbon schools received regional recognition at an award ceremony.
