4 Key Coronavirus Metrics Drop, 2 Unchanged In Delco

Four of the six key metrics have decreased and two went unchanged over the past week, according to the latest state data.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — The most recent state data on the coronavirus in Delaware County shows positive trends.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, four of the six key coronavirus metrics it measures have dropped in Delaware County over the past week. The two others remained unchanged.

Newly reported cases, the incidence rate per 100,000 people, the positivity rate, and average daily coronavirus hospitalizations have all gone down from April 23 to April 30.

Cases dropped from 1,162 to 752, the data shows.

The county's incidence rate went down from 205 to 132.7 per 100,000 people.

As for the positivity rate, Delco saw a nearly 2 percent decrease as it went down from 8.3 percent to 6.6 percent over the past week.

And the average number of daily coronavirus hospitalizations 95.1 to 89.6.

The number of average coronavirus patients who are on ventilators remained the same at 13.1 and the percent of people showing up at hospitals with coronavirus-like illnesses stay static at 1.1 percent.

As of Thursday, the county has seen 46,634 total cases of the coronavirus and 1,384 coronavirus-related deaths.

State data shows 147,629 people in Delaware County have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, while 93,859 have been partially vaccinated as of Friday.
