Cast Set For "Gypsy" At Media Theater
Popular musical to star Kristine Fraelich as Mama Rose

The Media Theatre will stage the popular musical “Gypsy” starting in last September, according to an announcement on the theater’s official website.
West Philadelphia native and Broadway veteran Kristine Fraelich will play the lead role of Mama Rose, with Kelly Briggs playing Herbie, Anna Giordano as Louise, and Cassidy Else and Amia Shavaun sharing the role of the younger Louise. Ava Briglia and Portia Murphy will share the part of the younger June.
Jesse Cline is directing the production, with Chris Ertelt as musical director and Dann Dunn the choreographer.

“Gypsy” debuted as a Broadway musical in 1959, and was based on the memoirs of striptease artist Gypsy Rose Lee, about her mother, stage mother Rose. Containing such popular songs as “Everything’s Coming up Roses“, “Together (Wherever We Go)” and “Rose’s Turn,” the show featured lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, music by Jule Styne and a book by Arthur Laurents. “Gypsy” has been revived on Broadway numerous times, most recently in 2008.
“Gypsy” will run at the Media Theater Sept. 23-Nov. 1, with performances Wednesdays at 2pm, Thursdays at 2pm and 7:30pm, Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 2 and 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm. To order tickets to the show, call 610-891-0100 or visit mediatheatre.org
