Media attorney Scott Kramer was disbarred by the state recently for failing to provide competent representation, ethical lapses, and more.

MEDIA, PA — A Delaware County attorney has been disbarred by Pennsylvania authorities after he failed to provide competent representation, “a lack of professional ethics,” and “outright theft."

After the state's Office of Disciplinary Counsel presented a report to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Scott L. Kramer, 40, of Media, was disbarred.

The report states Kramer levied excessive fees, failed to provide competent representation, did not provide clients information on their cases, and other violations of the Rules of Professional conduct.

Kramer violated these rules in six separate client cases over six and a half years, the report states.

"These clients, independent of each other, all had similar complaints that [Kramer] had improperly retained unearned fees, neglected matters, failed to communicate, and failed to provide competent representation," the report states.

In once case, he withdrew $747,000 from his client's bank account. He repaid most of the money, but kept $5,000. The report called that "outright theft."
