Delco Hosting 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

The event will honor the men and women who were lost in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, as well as military member fighting for freedom.

Delaware County is again hosting its annual September 11th Remembrance Ceremony next week memorialize the 16th anniversary of the tragic terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

The ceremony will take place Monday, Sept. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Delaware County Law Enforcement and Fire & EMS Memorial in Rose Tree Park located at 1671 N. Providence Road, Upper Providence Township.

The ceremony will include the laying of memorial wreaths for police, firefighters and first responders, and for the victims of the attacks, as well the servicemen and woman who have given their lives in pursuit of freedom since the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Delaware County first responders and law enforcement will be recognized for their heroic actions, as well.

Retired Coast Guard Fire Chief Chuck Burk will be serving as the keynote speaker, according to the county.

All attendees are asked to arrive 20 minutes ahead of the ceremony, the county said.

Parking is available on site and the memorials are handicap accessible.
