Delco Raises Coast Guard Flag In Honor Of 230th Anniversary
The county plans to honor the Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps on their founding dates later this year. The Army flag flew in June.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Delaware Count Tuesday honored the founding of the United States Coast Guard with a flag raising ceremony.
Delaware County Council members Elaine Paul Schaefer and Christine Reuther were joined by County Controller Joanne Phillips to help raise the U.S. Coast Guard flag in honor of the branch's founding on Aug. 4, 1790.
The county will fly the flag through the week in the courtyard of the Government Center and Courthouse.

Later this year, the county will honor other branches on their founding dates.
The Air Force flag will be raised on Sep. 18 in honor of its Sept. 18, 1947 founding; the Navy, on Oct. 13 for its Oct. 13, 1775 founding; and the Marine Corps, on Nov. 10 for its Nov. 10, 1775 founding.
