Delco Woman Charged In Norristown Double Murder

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — A Delaware County woman was arrested in connection with the murder of two elderly Montgomery County women who were found dead in a West Norriton Township home on Sunday, authorities said.

The incident occurred in the early evening hours of Thursday, March 7 on the first block of West Indian Lane, a quiet stretch of road alongside the Schuylkill River.

Naseema Sami, 43, of Folsom, had lived at the property 20 years ago, police said. She returned Sunday night — with her six-year-old son in tow — because the landlord, 78-year-old Lila Frost, had once offered her help if she ever needed anything, according to authorities.

Sami entered the home through an unlocked door, but no one was home.

She waited and shortly thereafter, according to the criminal complaint, Frost's friend, Lorraine Gigliello, 68, knocked on the door. Sami let her in, and Gigliello began asking Sami what she was doing there. When Gigliello reached for the phone to call police, Sami launched herself at the older woman, and began beating her, police said.

At some point, Sami broke a ketchup bottle on Gigliello. Frost arrived, and Sami used the broken ketchup bottle to repeatedly cut Frost, police said.

The fight with Frost somehow wound up in the bathroom. Sami wound up kicking Frost into the bathtub, kicking her and beating her until she was dead, according to the criminal complaint.

She then made an effort to clean up the home on Saturday, the complaint states. She covered Frost with a sheet and blanket and left her in the tub. Gigliello's body was also covered with a sheet and blanket underneath the kitchen table.

Some efforts were made to clean up the home, especially the blood, but Sami, and her six-year-old son, did not leave the house. Around 10 bottles of bleach were used, along with various other cleaners, police said.

By Sunday, a neighbor noticed something suspicious and called police.

When authorities arrived, Sami had set up furniture to use as a barricade at all entrances to the apartment, and the doors were locked with deadbolts. Sami and her son emerged from under a bed when police arrived, and Sami was arrested without further incident.

Autopsies stated the cause of death for Frost was "multiple injuries," and for Gigliello was "head trauma."

Sami faces two charges of first-degree murder. She was arraigned Monday. A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
