Hazardous Weather Outlook, Christmas Forecast Issued For PA

The weather outside may get a little frightfully slippery. No need to pout. And, please, please don't cry!

While it looks like we won't get a white Christmas, the National Weather Service has issued hazardous weather outlook for parts of Pennsylvania on Thursday and Friday, particularly in the eastern portions.

Some snow showers could come on Thursday, and a period of light freezing rain is possible Friday night, after midnight, and into Saturday morning. This may cause hazardous driving conditions during a portion of the holiday travel weekend.

National Weather Service maps show that ice could impact the Lehigh Valley, while rain could impact the rest:

AccuWeather reports snow, wind and rain could threaten travel over a large part of the central United States this weekend, centered on Christmas Day. But Pennsylvania should be OK.

While only minor weather-related travel issues are anticipated for much of the nation this week, a large and major storm will develop during the Christmas weekend in the central part of the United States.

The weather in the eastern and western thirds of the nation could be tranquil on Christmas Day, according to an AccuWeather release.

Monday morning, however, could be a little rough - and many are expected to have off from work that day. Here is the NWS map for Monday morning:
