DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Intermittent overnight lane closures are scheduled to begin on Interstate 476 and U.S. 1 in Delaware County this week, PennDOT said.

According to PennDOT, guide rail repair will take place on both highways through late April in several Delaware County municipalities.

The periodic lane closures will be in place Sundays through Fridays from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning.

On Interstate 476, the affected portion is between the I-95 interchange and the Montgomery County Line in Ridley, Nether Providence, Marple, Haverford and Radnor townships.

And on U.S. Route 1, the affected area is between the Chester County line and the Montgomery County line in Upper Darby, Haverford, Springfield, Marple, Upper Providence, Middletown, Concord and Birmingham townships and Chester Heights Borough.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur.
