Media Memorial Day Celebrations: What You Need To Know

The Memorial Day ceremony will feature Vietnam veteran and former prisoner of war as the keynote speaker.

MEDIA, PA – Media has a slew of events and activities scheduled for Memorial Day weekend and we have the details here.

On Sunday, May 28, Budweiser Clydesdale Horses will arrive at State and Edgmont street at 11:30a.m. to set up outside the ball field where kids and adults can get photos with the legendary horses.

The parade will kick off at noon, heading up State Street with the horses making five stops along the way to deliver beer.

The Media Fire Company and Police Department will lead the parade, while veterans will march behind a police patrol car.

Then on Monday, the Annual Memorial Day Parade begins at State and Edgmont streets at 10 a.m.

Participating groups include the Penncrest High School Marching Band, Veterans Organizations, Dignitaries and other student groups.

A Memorial Day ceremony will be held at the courthouse following the parade with keynote speak Ralph Galati, a Vietnam veteran who was a prison of war during the conflict.

Some parking restrictions will be in place Sunday and Monay to accommodate the celebrations.

On Sunday, parking will not be permitted on the entire length of State Street from Radnor to Orange streets, Orange Street between State and Front streets, and Front Street between Orange Street and Plum Street Mall. This will be to accommodate the return of the Budweiser Clydesdales to Media.

The on Monday, parking will be restricted along this same route to accommodate the Media Borough Memorial Day Parade.

On Monday, May 29th, 2017, there will be restricted parking As always, the Media Borough Police Department appreciates your anticipated cooperation and we wish everyone a safe holiday.

Additionally, Monday's regular collection will be on Tuesday while Tuesday's regular collection will be on Wednesday. The recycling schedule will not change next week.
