Members Sought For Delaware County Board Of Health

Five Delaware County residents are needed to make up the county's Board of Health as the county establishes a health department.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Qualified residents are sought to take positions on Delaware County's Board Of Health as officials work to establish a health department for the county.

Five Delaware County residents will serve on the board, two of whom will be Pennsylvania-licensed physicians.

Members of the board will serve four-year terms, provided, two initial members have two-year terms

These members will not be compensated, save for expense reimbursement.

Regular meetings of the board will be held at least once every three months.

The county is accepting resumes and letters of interest from residents who are interested in applying to be on the board through Feb. 5. Interested and qualified residents can email a resume and letter of interest to County Clerk of Delaware County at DelcoBoards@co.delaware.pa.us by Feb. 5 to be considered.

The board will be tasked with appointing a health director for Delaware County, who they will advise on various matters. They will also create rules and regulations for the prevention of disease, for the prevention and removal of conditions which constitute a menace to health, and for the promotion and preservation of the public health generally, subject to County Council approval
