One of Phillies' Owners Dies at 83
Sara L. "Sally" Buck had been part of the ownership team since 1981, the Phillies said.

A member of the Phillies’ ownership team has died, the team announced Saturday.
Sara L. “Sally” Buck, 83, died Saturday, Aug. 23, Major League Baseball said. She had been part of the Philles’ ownership group since December 1981, the Phillies said.“Sally was loved by many in the Phillies organization from front office staff, to players, to fellow owners,” Phillies President David Montgomery said. “Her passing leaves the club with a profound sense of loss. Her presence at Citizens Bank Park will be missed by all who knew and loved her.”
Buck is survived by her sons Pete and Sandy; daughters-in-law Nancy and Sissy; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the Phillies said.

“As her sons Pete and Sandy said, ‘Sally always put family and others first, ever humble and selfless, and deeply committed to her community, her friends and those in need,’ ” Montgomery said. “ ‘She modeled love, strength, virtue, good cheer and wisdom.’ ”
