P.I.T. Welcomes Lou Giannotti as Director of Cannabis Studies
Pharmacist, Lou Giannotti, comes to P.I.T. with an extensive background in the pharmaceutical and cannabis industries.

Media, PA - Pharmacist, Lou Giannotti has joined P.I.T. as the new Director of Cannabis Studies. Giannotti comes to P.I.T. with an extensive background in the retail and corporate pharmaceutical business as well as the cannabis industry. He is teaching many of the courses in the curriculum, and will also be identifying and exploring business opportunities to enhance students’ experience and to help grow the program.
Giannotti brings a wealth of experience from the pharmaceutical and cannabis career fields. A pharmacist by profession, he has over 20 years of experience as a Pharmacy District Supervisor for various community pharmacies. Giannotti’s supervisory experience led to a position as the Director of College Relations and Professional Recruitment for Rite Aid where he worked with a variety of colleges and universities in the area, building relationships to bridge the gap between graduation and career opportunities for pharmacy students. Prior to joining P.I.T, Giannotti was the Director of Operations for Holistic Industries (doing business as Liberty Cannabis), a leader in the cannabis industry in the state of PA. As the Director of Dispensary Operations, he worked closely with healthcare providers and community groups to create positive relationships with the industry.
“Research has proven that Medical Marijuana is an effective medical treatment for a variety of ailments”, says Giannotti. As the cannabis industry continues to grow at an explosive rate, Giannotti further explains, “The demand for people who are educated and passionate about this industry is extremely strong. There are career opportunities for dispensary management, security personnel, horticultural professionals, transportation specialists and many other yet to be determined areas of this growing business. P.I.T. recognizes this need and will provide highly qualified individuals to fill these positions”.

Giannotti is looking forward to talking with prospective students about P.I.T.'s Cannabis Business and Cannabis Health Therapy associate degree programs. Please contact the College at 610-892-1500 to schedule an appointment with Giannotti or the Admissions Department. Enrollment is still open for the July term, which will end this Thursday, July 11, 2019. The next term is set to begin in October, 2019.
