State Police Hosting Child Car Seat Safety Check Event In Delco

Families can ensure their child car seats are installed properly Saturday in Media thanks to the Pennsylvania State Police event.

MEDIA, PA — Pennsylvania State Police are hosting a child car seat safety check event in Delaware County this weekend.

From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Pennsylvania State Police Media Barracks are hosting a Child Car Seat Safety Check Event for Delco families.

Families can get their child car seat checked in the parking lot of the Rock Run YMCA, 1299 W. Baltimore Pike in Media.

Child Passenger Safety Technicians will teach you how to properly install your car seat and answer your child passenger safety questions.

This event is put together to support our Child Passenger Safety Week and highlights the safety benefit for children who are correctly secured in the right child restraint (rear-facing car seat, forward-facing car seat with a harness, belt-positioning booster seat or seat belt) appropriate for a child’s age and size.

The campaign is dedicated to helping parents and caregivers make sure their children ride as safely as possible.

Those looking to get a check are asked to make an appointment, but walk-ins are welcome.
