According to the Eddystone Fire Company, recent heavy rainfall made the creek's current fast enough to hinder responders' efforts to drag the creek.
But ultimately responders called off the search after about two-and-a-half hours.
The search continued with divers on Sunday, but there is no word on results of further searches.
