Two entrepreneurs create a life-changing planner for busy people

Two local entrepreneurs help busy people create order with a new day planner -- Kickstarter launch for Balance Bound is underway

Time is a precious commodity for everyone — however, graphic designer and entrepreneur Brooke Forry views time very differently than most people.

A busy wife and mom of two young children, Brooke knows that carving out time to maintain life balance and self-care is crucial to harmony in her home. Wall calendars and shared online schedules didn’t work for her; she needed the space to list all of her daily to-dos, and the gratification of checking off completed tasks. Brooke needed the perfect blend of structure and flexibility to accommodate an ever-changing schedule. Like most creative thinkers and entrepreneurs, when Brooke couldn’t find the planner she needed, she set out to create it herself.

The result is the Balance Bound Planner.

The Balance Bound Planner is poised to take the planner industry by storm. Brooke and her business partner, Terry Packard Baker, created a planner that helps busy people create order, set boundaries, prioritize self-care, and conquer the world one day (planner) at a time.

Brooke did immense research on planners, calendars and datebooks, and designed a clear, clean planner that makes it easy to see your life’s priorities. The foundation of the Balance Bound Planner is four signature sections: work, self, others and home, by which each day is divided. This unique approach allows users to see, at-a-glance, where they need to delegate or make time for self-care.

“Imagine what you can accomplish if you could see all of your daily tasks sorted by the different roles you play, allowing you to set clear boundaries to prioritize your own well-being, all in one beautifully designed, user-friendly planner,” Brooke says. “What would your life look like?”

To take Balance Bound to an international market, Brooke and Terry launched a Kickstarter campaign on July 11. Brooke and Terry invite you to check out the campaign and learn more about the Balance Bound Planner. Pledge levels begin at $5; Pledges of $55 or more will guarantee backers a Balance Bound Planner, with one of the three available cover designs, once the total Kickstarter goal is met. Every dollar will go toward production of the day planner, which will be printed in America.

Brooke explains, “Self-care is a buzzword that is everywhere right now, and we are keenly aware of how much self-care industry noise people are bombarded with every day. While self-care is indeed at the root of the Balance Bound Planner design, we want to do more than encourage getting mani-pedis and using sheet masks. We want to emphasize the importance of ongoing self-care that allows us to be better humans who leave a positive mark on society. We have created a product that makes that a more accessible reality.”

Balance Bound is a new planner in production that is designed to help busy people create order, set boundaries, prioritize self-care, and conquer the world one day planner at a time. All production will be completed in the United States. Brooke Forryand Terry Packard Baker are founders and partners of Curious & Co. Creative, an award-winning graphic design firm.
