Charlotte Russe Files For Bankruptcy, Could Liquidate

The women's retailer is closing 94 of its stores, including one in southwestern Pennsylvania.

Women’s fashion retailer Charlotte Russe has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and will close nearly 100 stores as part of its reorganization. But the chain stated in a court filing that it will liquidate completely if it can’t find a buyer by Feb. 17.

The company, which also operates Peek stores, has more than 500 stores and 8,700 employees. It plans to shutter 94 stores in the near future, including its location at the Mall at Robinson.
