Michael Baker Jr. Inc. Appoints Darghous, Ryon and Sparrow to New Posts
Moon-based engineering and construction firm promotes three executives to Homeland Security, engineering and financial posts.

Michael Baker Jr., Inc. has announced the appointments of three executives to new positions within the Moon-based engineering and construction firm.
Those promoted include:
- Sam Darghous to vice president and Customs and Border Protection market national director. Company officials said Darghous will be responsible for the overall financials and development in the Homeland Security market. He graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Andrea Ryon to vice president and regional manager of the Civil and Environmental Engineering practice, overseeing C&EE operations from Maryland to Georgia. She holds a bachelor of science degree in civil and environmental Engineering from Duke University and a master’s degree in water resources engineering from Stanford University.
- Jeffrey L. Sparrow to vice president and Federal Emergency Management Agency market national director, overseeing financials and development goals for FEMA. He holds a bachelor of science degree in agricultural engineering technology from the University of Delaware and a master of business administration from George Mason University.

“Sam, Andrea and Jeff have been responsible for leading some of Baker’s most successful and growing programs in the federal market. These promotions are well deserved and position them and Baker to guide the next genesis of operational development,” said John Kurgan, the firm's chief operating officer.
