Montour School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Montour is September 6. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Montour School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/29: Clerical Day
• 8/30: Teacher In-Service
• 8/31: Teacher In-Service

September

• 9/1: Teacher In-Service
• 9/5: Teacher In-Service
• 9/6: First Day of School
• 9/25: Open House - Elementary TBD, DEW Grades 7&8 (1 Hr. Early Dismissal for All)
• 9/26: Open House - Elementary TBD, MHS & DEW Grades 5&6 (1 Hr. Early Dismissal for All)

October

• 10/2: 2-Hour Late Start for Students (Professional Development/Act 80)
• 10/30: 2-Hour Late Start for Students (Professional Development/Act 80)

November

• 11/6: No School for Students (Parent/Teacher Conferences - Act 80 Day)
• 11/7: No School for Students (Teacher Inservice)
• 11/22: Early Dismissal
• 11/23 - 11/27: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/4: 2-Hour Late Start for Students (Professional Development/Act 80)
• 12/21: Early Dismissal
• 12/22 - 12/30: No School (Holiday Recess)

January

• 1/1: No School (Holiday Recess)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February

• 2/5: 2-Hour Late Start for Students (Professional Development/Act 80)
• 2/16: No School for Students (Teacher Inservice)
• 2/19: No School (Presidents' Day)
