Thorn Run Interchange Work Resuming
PennDOT is resuming work on the Thorn Run interchange improvement project.
MOON TOWNSHIP, PA - Most construction projects have been halted across the state because of the coronavirus outbreak but, PennDOT has resumed the Thorn Run Interchange (Robert E. Harper Interchange) improvement project in Moon.
Currently, the Business Loop 376 off-ramp at the Thorn Run interchange is closed to traffic. Motorists are being detoured. The posted detour:
- From westbound Business Loop 376 take the Ewing Road off-ramp.
- Turn right onto Ewing Road.
- Turn left onto Cherrington Parkway.
- Follow Cherrington Parkway to the intersection of Thorn Run Road Extension and Coraopolis Heights Road.
- End detour.
The $9.4 million project includes ramp construction, widening, traffic signal installation, drainage improvements, guide rail upgrades, curb and sidewalk repairs, and structure work at the interchange near Coraopolis Heights Road, Thorn Run Road Extension, and Cherrington Parkway. Lane and shoulder restrictions will occur on Business Route 376 and other roads during construction.
