Best PA High Schools In 2017: Nazareth Area High School Ranks 93rd

With all the attention on public education recently because of the contentious confirmation of Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education, this report card on Pennsylvania public high schools couldn't come at a better time.

The list of the best public high schools in the Keystone State was compiled by information gathering website Niche.com and is based on criteria such as academics and outcomes.

Niche used a variety of factors, including SAT/ACT scores, student-teacher ratio, the quality of colleges students consider and reviews from students and parents for its ranking.

According to the website, academics accounted for 50 percent of the ranking. Culture and diversity, health and safety, parent/student surveys and a teachers grade each accounted for 10 percent of the ranking.
