Changes in Downtown Nazareth Parking
2015 will see different, more expensive parking rules after the Nazareth Borough Council discussed changes.
Parking on the street in downtown Nazareth will become a little bit more expensive in 2015.
The Nazareth Borough Council voted to raise the cost of an estimated 275 parking meters to 25 cents for one hour, according to The Express-Times. Prior to this decision, those parking downtown paid 12 cents, and some meters as low as 10 cents, for one hour. Parking meters will no longer accept nickels or dimes, just quarters, according to the newspaper.
There will also be a change in the time in which meters are enforced, according to The Express-Times. Meters that are currently enforced from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., will now be enforced from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. These changes include a two-hour parking limit, subject to a $10 fine, The Express-Times reports.
