Crossing Guard, Crosswalk Pushed by Nazareth Council

Halloween parade planned for Oct. 19.

Safety was on the minds of Nazareth Borough Council at its monthly meeting for September.

In approving three motions, council announced that a crossing guard be added for an additional shift at the "5 Points" intersection for the third shift of school dismissals at 3:15 p.m. every day.

Council also is directing the borough engineer to correspond with PennDOT to address the feasibility of adding a crosswalk at the intersection of E. Walnut Street, Franklin Street and the Liberty and Victory Lane terminus.

Council also approved closing downtown streets to hold the annual Halloween parade at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19.

"No parking" signs in the metered zone are not to be placed until the parking enforcement officer's final tour of the day after 4 p.m.
