NEW HOPE, PA — After nine years, New Hope's Blue Moose Restaurant and Cafe has closed for good.

The W. Mechanic Street restaurant shut its doors for the last time on Sunday, Aug. 11. In a message shared to the restaurant's Facebook page, Owner Skylar Bird said owning the restaurant "has been the most challenging and exciting experience of my life."

Bird said he is closing because "the time is right for me to move on and explore other opportunities."

Reactions to the closure were plentiful, with many expressing surprise and disappointment that he'll be leaving the space.

The New Hope Free Press reported another restaurant will be filling the space come September. The name and cuisine type is not yet known.
