The Black Bass Named Among America's Most Scenic Restaurants

LUMBERVILLE, PA — You won't have to drive far to visit one of the country's most scenic restaurants. It's a stone's throw from New Hope.
The Black Bass Hotel in Lumberville, along the Delaware River, has been included on Open Table's new list of the 100 Most Scenic Restaurants in America.
"Featuring breathtaking views from coast to coast, the restaurants featured on the list offer the perfect backdrop for any occasion," the online restaurant reservation and information website said about its new list.

The Black Bass Hotel is a highly regarded Bucks County institution with a menu that features everything from salads and burgers for lunch to steak and seafood for dinner. Situation along the Delaware River, the restaurant's beautiful views of the water and quaint Bucks County are what earned it a spot on Open Table's most scenic list.
A total of 25 states had restaurants included in the list, with California leading the way with 28 restaurants. Florida had 13 winners, and New York had seven. In Pennsylvania, there were four restaurants included. In addition to the Black Bass Hotel, Parc in Philadelphia was named, as well as two Pittsburgh spots: the Monterey Bay Fish Grotto and Altius.

But the surroundings are not the only thing that makes the Black Bass worth a visit. It has a really interesting history, and is home to the one of the country's largest collections of vintage British memorabilia.
Built in the 1740s, it was originally known as The Lumberville Hotel. It is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Black Bass boasts an impressive list of celebrities who have dined with them, including several English Lords and Ladies, President Grover Cleveland, Liza Minelli, Ethel Merman, Marlon Brando, Carlos Santana, Christian Slater, Marc Blucas, Diane Sawyer, and Martina Navratilova.
