Carpool Comedy Event Raises Funds for ACME

A fundraiser on Saturday, June 26 will support the ACME Screening Room's reopening with a night of comedy, live music, and tailgating.

LAMBERTVILLE, NJ — Joey Novick and Comedyworks Entertainment will host a Carpool Comedy Fundraiser on Saturday, June 26 at 7 p.m. to raise money for the ACME Screening Room. “A nonprofit weekend theater that presents classic, independent, and documentary films to educate and inspire,” now closed for more than a year due to COVID-19, the ACME projects to reopen its indoor space — a former Lambertville supermarket — in September of this year.

The Carpool Comedy Fundraiser promises a lively night including comedy, a 50/50 raffle, and live music. Prizes will be offered for the best tailgate setup — including best tailgate cuisine provided by the Rosemont Supper Club, and best table design provided by Arlen Sam Brown: Interiors + Collections. Picnic fare for the evening can be brought from home or purchased from one of the several nearby restaurants.

Tickets will be $35/person online until Sunday, June 20; tickets purchased in the week prior to the show will be $40. The outdoor venue lot, provided by MSMJ Associates and the tenants of the Spoke Works Building, is located at 204 N. Union St. and will open at 6:15 p.m.
