Castle In Bucks Co. Hosting Beer Fest

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Drinking beer is fun. Drinking beer at a castle is even more fun.

You can do just that next month: Fonthill Castle in Doylestown will host its annual Fonthill Castle Beer Fest on Saturday, Aug.24 from 2 to 5 p.m.

Attendees can sip beers from regional breweries in a castle setting, all in support of Fonthill Castle’s preservation and community program initiatives.

“We are thrilled to welcome our community to another wonderful Fonthill Castle Beer Fest this
year. With many returning breweries, as well as exciting new additions, we know this year’s Beer Fest will be one to remember,” said President & Executive Director Kyle McKoy.

This year’s Fonthill Castle Beer Fest features a variety of beers from regional breweries, including Conshohocken Brewing Company, Foreign Objects, Great Barn Brewery, Hops/Scotch, Mad Princes Brewing, McAllister Brewing Company, Moss Mill Brewing Company, Round Guys Brewing Company, Saranac Brewery, Stable 12 Brewing Company, Tower Hill Brewery and
more.

As far as food goes, Doylestown’s THE Catering Company will serve a menu of light refreshments to all event attendees using fresh, natural ingredients from local farms. "The food selection will be designed to pair with the variety of beer styles available at the event," according to organizers.

The fun starts with a VIP reception at 1 p.m. Doors open for all guests at 2 p.m.

Tickets are: $100 VIP; $60 General Admission; $55 Members and $25 Designated Driver. You can get tickets at mercermuseum.org/beerfest. Advance registration is highly recommended by organizers.

A few more things to know about the event:

  • A range of musical entertainment is planned, including Billy & Miles of Where’s Pete Band.
  • Bucks County Transport is providing free DART Bus services after the event to all Beer Fest
  • attendees who show their event wristband. The bus will run every 15-20 minutes between 4:30p.m. and 10:30 p.m. and will stop at Fonthill Castle, the corner of S. Main Street and W. StateStreet, and the corner of W. State Street and Hamilton Street.
  • Restaurant and Community partners of Beer Fest will be offering special deals to attendees
  • after the event. Partners include Evolution Candy, Hickory Kitchen, Hops/Scotch, Lovebird, Quinoa, Steak and Hoagie Factory, and To-Yo Japanese Restaurant and Bar. For offer details, visit mercermuseum.org/beerfest.
