Children’s Museum Discounts For Military, Low-Income Families
Bucks County families and little ones rejoice: the children's museum in New Hope is open this summer with a spate of discounts!

NEW HOPE, PA — The Bucks County Children’s Museum announced Wednesday that it will once again be offering discounted admission to military and lower-income families. While the museum was closed for a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this will mark its next year as a participant in Museums For All and its eighth summer as a Blue Star Museum.
The Blue Star Museum designation is part of a collaboration headed by The National Endowment for the Arts, offering free admission to active-duty members and up to five family members through Labor Day. The museum also offers a 50 percent discount for veterans throughout the year.
Museums For All is a national initiative which makes museum experiences accessible to lower-income families. Through this program, families presenting a valid Electronic Benefits Card at the museum will pay a reduced admission of $2 per person for up to four individuals per household. A grant from Foundations Community Partnership will keep this program in place for the next year.

A donation from Friends of U.S. Army Ranger Captain Connor Bednarzyk makes discounts for military families and veterans possible. Bednarzyk, a 2011 Central Bucks East graduate and Penn State alum, lost his life in a military training accident in 2018.
His mother Ruth Bednarzyk, a retired music teacher, wanted to support the museum because of how much her son enjoyed helping children learn.

“Connor loved music and often volunteered in my classroom teaching students about music and sound,” she said.
For Foundations Community Partnership, it’s critical that community members have access to the museum’s fun, imaginative programming regardless of their income.
“The museum’s engaging exhibits and programs are much needed after this time of uncertainty and will enhance the quality of life of children and families in Bucks County,” said Tobi Bruhn, Foundations’ Executive Director.
The Bucks County Children’s Museum is located at 500 Union Square Dr. in New Hope. Walk-in admission is open Tuesday - Friday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m., and reservations are required on weekends.
