Fire Damages Home In Solebury

SOLEBURY, PA — Firefighters on Thursday morning battled a blaze that damaged a home on Sugan Road in Solebury near New Hope.

The fire, on the 2100 block of Sugan Road, was reported at around 10:10 a.m., according to the Solebury Township Police Department. Police and members of New Hope Eagle Fire Co. arrived to find smoke pouring out of the building and a fire in its basement.

Joined by firefighters from other area companies, the crew was able to put out the fire. One of the property owners, as well as two contractors who were working at the home, where there when the fire started, police said.

All three had evacuated from the home and no one was injured, according to police.

New Hope Police, Central Bucks EMS and Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance responded to the fire, as did Midway, Lambertville, Upper Makefield, Point Pleasant, Doylestown, Stockton, West Amwell, Hartsville and Lingohocken fire companies.

The Bucks County Fire Marshall's office was investigating Thursday to determine what caused the blaze.
