Here's How All Bucks Co. Hospitals Rank For Patient Safety
A few changes from the last safety ratings, including St. Mary, which went up from a C to an A. See how all six Bucks Co. hospitals did:
BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The nonprofit Leapfrog Group, which assesses hospital safety, released its Fall 2019 safety ratings Thursday. The organization assessed approximately 2,600 hospitals across the country, including 123 in Pennsylvania.
Of the hospitals analyzed, 56 got an A grade and eight got a D.

The Leapfrog Group's assessment included six Bucks County hospitals. Of them, the highest rated for safety were Doylestown Hospital, St. Mary Medical Center, and St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital, which both received A grades.
Lower Bucks and Jefferson Bucks both received a B. Grand View Health got a C. No Bucks County hospitals got a D.

It was the seventh consecutive A score for Doylestown Hospital.
“Patient safety is a central focus of the continuous quality improvement efforts of the Doylestown Hospital clinical staff,” said Scott Levy, Doylestown Hospital's chief medical officer. “As we prepare to begin our second century of compassionate caring and introduce new and complex health services, the Leapfrog patient safety score is a valuable affirmation of the care our patients expect and deserve.”
St. Mary Medical Center escalated in the ratings, moving up from a C in the past spring and fall to an A.
