Lambertville Announces Green Innovator Award
Nominations for the first-ever Lambertville Green Innovator Award will be accepted through Sept. 13.
LAMBERTVILLE, NJ – The Lambertville Environmental Commission is seeking nominations for its first-ever Green Innovator Award. The award is being launched in connection with the city’s "Ditching Disposables" initiative.
An ordinance banning single-use plastic bags and styrofoam containers was passed in September 2018 and will be mandatory as of January 1st, 2020. Under the new law, plastic straws may be provided to customers only upon request. All stores must offer a paper carryout bag or reusable bag.
The Lambertville Environmental Commission's Green Innovator Award will recognize local businesses who embody the ideals of green business practices in conjunction with the Ditching Disposables initiative.
