Lambertville Restaurant A Finalist For NJ Culinary Award

El Tule is a finalist for the Best Neighborhood Food Establishment for Central New Jersey category.

A Lambertville restaurant has been named a finalist for a 2018 Garden State Culinary Arts Award. The awards, organized by the nonprofit Garden State Culinary Arts Foundation, will honor New Jersey's finest restaurants, chefs, farmers, food artisans and markets, as well as professionals in the beer, wine and spirits industries.

El Tule is one of three finalists for the Best Neighborhood Food Establishment for Central New Jersey category.

Nominees in this category are informal, moderately priced, and independently owned eateries "with high-quality food that reflects the character of New Jersey and/or its surrounding community.

The other finalists include The Buttered Biscuit Cafe in Bradley Beach and Mustache Bill's Diner in Barnegat Light.

The finalists were selected by an independent voting body that included 150 food writers and critics, members of the Garden State Awards Committee and winners of the 2017 Garden State Culinary Arts Awards.

The top three vote-getters in each of the 15 awards categories were named finalists; a second round of voting will now determine the winner.

Award winners will be announced at a gala ceremony and reception April 29 in Holmdel.
