Man Climbs Through Window, Takes $2K From New Hope Business: Cops

NEW HOPE, PA — Two commercial burglaries are under investigation in New Hope Borough, including one in which a man climbed through a window and stole $2,000 in cash, police said.

The first burglary happened at an unnamed business along the 100 block of South Main Street between 10 p.m. on Jan. 20 and and 8 a.m. on Jan. 21. The burglar gained access through an unsecured window and threw items onto the floor but took nothing. There were no witnesses or surveillance video during the burglary, police said.

The second burglary occurred on North Main Street at 1:45 a.m. on Jan. 25.

A man was able to get into the business by removing a window air conditioner unit. The suspect then took approximately $2,000 from the cash drawer, police said.

The man is described as being white, approximately 6 foot tall, and with a thin build. He was and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray sweat pants, light-colored sneakers, black jacket, black mask, and black gloves.

He left through the window, then ran south on North Main Street then west on West Bridge Street, the video obtained by police showed.
