More Smash-And-Grab Thefts At Bucks Co. Gyms Reported

Three more cases of thieves smashing car windows at Bucks County gyms were reported this week.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Three more smash and grab thefts at Bucks County gyms occurred this week, two as recently as this morning, according to police.

Two cars parked at the Doylestown Fitness Center had their windows smashed Friday morning around 9 a.m., Plumstead Township Police said. Purses were stolen from the cars.

"This has occurred at numerous workout facilities in the area," police noted.

Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed anything suspicious to call them at 215-766-5741.

Earlier this week, on Dec. 18, a theft occurred at Cornerstone Health and Fitness, Doylestown Township Police said.

The front passenger’s side window was smashed and items were removed from the car.

Police in Doylestown are reminding residents to hide all valuables from view. They are also asking anyone who observed anything suspicious in the area of Cornerstone that day between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to call them at 215-348-4200.

Earlier this month, six cars parked outside Orange Theory Fitness off Rt. 611 all had their windows smashed. The thefts were reported just before 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 9.

Also, a rash of early-morning thefts was reported Nov. 15 in Newtown Township. Police at the time said it appeared to be the work of the Felony Lane Gang — a criminal enterprise that targets gyms, daycares, and sports fields to steal purses and wallets from cars.
