New Hope Shops Dominate The Bucks County Ice Cream Trail

July is National Ice Cream month, so why not follow the delicious Bucks County Ice Cream Trail to celebrate?

Yes, there is a real-deal ice cream trail in Bucks County, and the folks at Visit Bucks County have the inside scoop. (Sorry, we couldn't help ourselves.)

There are more than a dozen spots on the trail, so you may want to break up your adventure into a few trips. Ice cream is good but 13 servings may make you hate it.

The following spots are on the ice cream trail:

Upper Bucks County

  • Owowcow in Ottsville (there is also an Owowcow in Wrightstown, more on that below): Handmade with locally-sourced ingredients, known for creative flavors and ultra-creamy texture.
  • Chubby's Dairy Barn in Pipersville: A local favorite that serves up scoops, soft serve, and water ice.
  • Sundae School in Hilltown: Located in a refurbished school, this spot offers 58 flavors, including "magical unicorn" and "playdough" (Ok, we're intrigued...)

Central Bucks County

  • Tanner Bros. Dairy Farm in Ivyland: For more than 100 years they've been serving up cool treats. Current flavors include Rocky Road and Peanut Butter Swirl.
  • Owowcow in Wrightstown: Located in Carousel Village, this is the popular creamery's second Bucks County location. There is also one in Lambertville, and one coming to Chalfont.
  • Nina's Waffles in Doylestown: Located in downtown Doylestown, this spot is known for its mouth-watering flavor combinations as well as, of course, their waffles. A Nina's is opening in Newtown this summer as well. Locations exist in Peddler's Village as well as New Hope.
  • Last Temptation in New Hope: Famous for its "blend-ins," which mix your favorite candy, cookie or fruit into your ice cream.
  • ICandy and Creamery in New Hope: Scooping locally made ice cream and a variety of candy, including Shriver's Salt Water Taffy and Asher's Chocolate.
  • Moo Hope in New Hope: Another New Hope spot, Moo Hope serves hand-churned ice cream and has more than 50 flavors.
  • Dilly's in New Hope: No explanation needed. Quintessential Bucks County river eatery with awesome soft serve cones.

Lower Bucks County

  • Goodnoe Farm Dairy Bar in Newtown: Everyone in Bucks County knows about Goodnoe Farm Dairy Bar. The fourth-generation enterprise now serves sweets from a Sycamore Street shop.
  • Zebra Striped Whale in Newtown: Located in Newtown Borough, Zebra Striped Whale mixes in your favorite candies on a frozen granite slab.
  • Uncle Dave's in Yardley: Located at Shady Brook Farm, Uncle Dave's offers seasonally rotated flavors in a fun farm setting.
  • Dairy Delite in Levittown: A local favorite with tasty soft serve.
