​New Hope-Solebury Superintendent Leaving District

​New Hope-Solebury Superintendent Dr. Steven Yanni is leaving the district for a position in Upper Dublin.

New Hope-Solebury Superintendent Dr. Steven Yanni is leaving the district for a position in Upper Dublin. The Upper Dublin Board of Directors approved a contract with Yanni at a meeting on May 14.

Yanni is expected to leave New Hope-Solebury June 30; his five-year contract at Upper Dublin begins July 1, the Bucks County Herald reported.

"The Board is extremely excited about Dr. Yanni joining the School District of Upper Dublin as its next Superintendent," Upper Dublin School Board President Dr. Art Levinowitz said in a statement. "I believe Dr. Yanni is a perfect match for our district."

Yanni has been superintendent in New Hope-Solebury since December 2015 and before that served as assistant superintendent.

According to his bio, he previously served as the director of curriculum and as an elementary school principal for East Pennsboro School District. He has also served as an elementary and middle school teacher in Gaston County Schools in North Carolina and the Twin Valley School District in Berks County.

"I am both honored and humbled to be selected as the finalist to be the next Superintendent of the School District of Upper Dublin," Yanni said in a statement. "I look forward to working collaboratively with the school board, staff, students, parents and the community. As an educator, I am committed to providing all students with exceptional educational experiences in a safe and respectful environment, which will ensure they become productive members of an ever-changing global society."
