NHS Cares Awarded $259K For Strengthening Families Program 10-14
Helen Tai Presents New Hope Solebury Cares Grant Funds for Strengthening Families Program 10-14
At the October 2nd Solebury Twp. Board meeting, Representative Helen Tai publicly announced that New Hope Solebury Cares would be the recipient of nearly $260,000 in grant money from the Department of Health and Human Services to support the development and implementation of the Strengthening Families Program 10-14 across the 178th Legislative District. The Strengthening Families Program is an evidence-based parent, youth, and family skills-building curriculum that prevents teen substance abuse and other behavior problems. The program also strengthens parent/youth communication skills, increases academic success in youth, and prevents aggressive behavior both at home and school. “We are grateful to Helen Tai and the Department of Health and Human Services for their support” said Zach Mahon, NHS Cares Director. “The program will be a natural addition to the efforts that New Hope Solebury Cares is already making to help our community to Thrive Together”.
New Hope Solebury Cares’ mission is to work together to support a safe, healthy, and addiction free New Hope and Solebury. For more information on how to get involved with NHS Cares, or the Strengthening Family Program, visit nhscares.org.
