'Porch Pirates' Rampant In Bucks Co., Police Warn
Porch pirates often follow a UPS or FedEx truck through neighborhoods, "grabbing packages as they are delivered," police warn.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Police in Bucks County are warning residents about rampant "porch pirates" after numerous packages have been stolen.
Police in Plumstead Township said more than $200 worth of Christmas gifts were taken from a victim's property earlier this month. Package thefts this holiday season have been reported across the county, including in Bristol, Newtown, and beyond.
In a warning to local residents, Plumstead police said:

"Just so you are aware, porch pirates often work in teams, driving slowly and repeatedly through neighborhoods. Typically, one thief drives the car, while the other quickly scoops up packages and jumps back in the car for a quick getaway."

Police recommend that if you have packages scheduled to be delivered, be sure someone is there to accept the package. Or, have it shipped to a location where you'll be during the day, such as work.
Anyone who observes any suspicious vehicles or people in their neighborhood, should contact their local police department.
