The Raven In New Hope To Close In October

NEW HOPE, PA — The Raven in New Hope will close next month and become a valet parking lot as the new ownership works to enhance the hotel and restaurant, according to information from the business.

According to information from The Raven, the business will close on Oct. 14. "The last day we will be serving our guests will be October 13," the business said in a social media post.

Gateway to New Hope, owners of Odette's, purchased The Raven in June. At the time of the sale, the buyers said The Raven's current operator would continue to manage the W. Bridge Street entertainment venue.

"It is important to all parties that this local establishment remain a community hotspot," an announcement from Gateway about the purchase said.

It is not clear if those plans for the future of the business have changed.

Kelly Renz, a spokesperson for Gateway, said the company is not sure how long the closure will last.

The closure comes as The Raven has plans to develop an enhanced hotel and restaurant/club experience, according to the post .

"Until they receive all approvals and permits, this location will be used as a private valet parking location for Riverhouse at Odette's, debuting Spring 2020.We strongly encourage you to visit us at The Raven over the next few weeks to relive the memories and experiences you've enjoyed," the social media post said.

The Raven was listed for sale in 2018 for $5.9 million. The details of the sale were not disclosed by Gateway.

At the time of the sale, Gateway said: "Although Gateway does not have any immediate plans for development, it is studying possible ways to enhance the property, as well as use the existing parking facilities to support event and hotel needs for The River House at Odette's, once it opens in Spring 2020."

The Raven was established in 1979. In addition to the rooms, the resort includes The Raven Restaurant as well as a bar and lounge, the Raven Pool Club and Raven Dance Hall.
