PRINCETON, NJ — A renowned Bucks County chef will be opening an event space on 82 acres just over the river in Princeton, N.J.

Chef Max Hansen, chef and owner of Max Hansen Caterer, recently purchased a 25,000 square foot, multimillion-dollar property on Carter Road in Princeton. Hansen plans to convert this property into “a world-class event space worthy of the community.”

Named The Princeton Farmhouse, this event space is located seven minutes from downtown Princeton. It will include full-service catering and event facility, a commissary kitchen, and offices.

Hansen will also be partnering with several local farms, including Cherry Grove Farms, Terhune Orchards and Blue Moon Acres, to provide local ingredients for his menus.

The venue is being designed by Princeton-based Studio Hillier. Construction will begin late summer 2021, with completion slated for summer 2022.

According to Hansen, “the look and feel” of the new venue will be “of a New England farm compound with a Princeton aesthetic.”

The property will be available for private affairs, conferences, seminars, meetings, corporate events, and charitable fundraisers.

The new space is “fulfillment of a lifelong dream,” said Hansen.

“I’ve been working my entire career to build this type of premier facility, and I cannot wait to serve our guests from Princeton and beyond next summer,” the chef said in a statement.
