Upper Makefield Flipped For Biden In 2020 Election
See how voters in New Hope and Solebury voted in the 2020 presidential election between former Vice President Joe Biden and President Trump.
UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — A majority of voters in Upper Makefield supported Democratic candidate Joe Biden in 2020, a switch from four years ago, when the township favored Republican President Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, New Hope and Solebury both backed Biden as well, just as they had supported Democrat Hillary Clinton over Trump four years ago.
Unofficial results posted by Bucks County also showed that thousands more area residents voted this year than in the 2016 election.

In the Nov. 3 election, Biden received 3,452 votes in Upper Makefield, compared to 3,110 for Trump. In 2016, Trump had defeated Clinton there by a vote of 2,836 to 2,701.
In New Hope, Biden topped Trump by a vote of 1,299 to 536 and, in Solebury Township, Biden came out on top, 3,962 to 2,479.

Trump, who has lost Pennsylvania according to unofficial results, won 27 of Bucks County's 54 municipalities in 2020. In 2016, he'd won 34. Eight municipalities in Bucks County flipped from red to blue in the most recent election, while just one — Dublin Borough — went from blue to red, uncertified results show.
President-elect Joe Biden beat Trump by more than 16,000 votes in Bucks County, according to the uncertified results. In 2016, Clinton won the county but by a more narrow margin of approximately 2,700 votes.
The other municipalities in Bucks County that flipped from red to blue in 2020 are Buckingham Township, New Britain Township, Perkasie Borough, Plumstead Township, Sellersville Borough, Warminster Township and Warrington Township.
