WWII Vet, Lifetime New Hope Eagle Fire Co. Member Dies At 95
Charles "Bud" Grimes was a WWII vet and a lifetime member of the New Hope Eagle Fire Co. He died March 2 at the age of 95.

Charles “Bud” Grimes, 95 passed away peacefully at his home on March 2, 2019.
Born and raised in New Hope, Bud had moved to Buckingham Twp. in 1997. He served in the United States Army during WW II with the Battalion known as Darby Rangers. He was a life member of the New Hope Eagle Fire Company and for a number of years worked for the Washington Crossing Park Service. He retired from the New Jersey Joint Free Bridge Commission in New Hope with over 30 years of employment.

Son of the late Charles H. Grimes and Ada P. Fox Grimes and widower of Evelyn Iliff Grimes, he is survived by two daughters Donna Pingitor and her husband Tom, Janet Gleiche and her husband Robert, one sister Eleanor Rufh, one brother Donald J. Grimes, five grandchildren, Charles R. Curtis, Lindsey B. Gleiche, Brett R. Gleiche, Nicholas Pingitor & his wife Adrienne, and Richard Pingitor.
A devoted family man, Bud loved spending time with them. He enjoyed gardening, and ball room dancing.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday March 9, from 1-4 pm at the Buckingham Springs Club House 1490 Durham Rd, New Hope Pa.
